This is a tintype photo of THOMAS GILLAN (1827-1893),
probably taken in the late 1870s. Tom was a resident of Hammonds Plains, Nova
Scotia. He and his wife Mary Anne Deighan raised eleven children, including
James Gillan, great-grandfather of Matthew J. Barker.
